A White House spokesperson reported that President Obama will not attend Former First Lady Nancy Reagan’s funeral. Instead, President Obama will attend South By Southwest, a music and film festival. This is not the first time Obama has opted out of other notable funerals. Obama skipped Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s funeral in February 2016 and former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in 2013.
Obama always praised and admired Nancy Reagan. He said that the former first lady helped ease his and Michelle’s transition to the White House. Obama recalled that “she could not have been more gracious and more charming to myself and Michelle when we first came into office,” as reported by The Hill.
Obama won't attend #NancyReagan funeral. skipped Scalia &Margaret Thatcher too. That's petty, petulant & lowclass. https://t.co/S3KCGVcGlw

Next time you hear Obama lament the divisiveness in America, remember his snub of Nancy Reagan's funeral https://t.co/Z2DFRAZmfw
