Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, in keeping with his stance of “telling it like it” rather than being politically correct, appeared at a rally in Burlington Iowa making it clear that “Merry Christmas” was not going anywhere.
The crowd roared after Trump said “I’m a good Christian. If I become president, we’re gonna be saying Merry Christmas at every store … You can leave happy holidays at the corner.”
Trump’s aversion to political correctness (“PC”) or in this case religious political correctness is what attracted the Trump supporters.
“He actually says what I want to hear and he’s not worried about telling somebody or saying it in a way that doesn’t sound real,” said Cynthia Forth. “I want to hear [it] straight. He’ll give it to you straight.”
